8 AWESOME STOCKING STUFFER IDEAS FOR TRAVELERS

GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED!

Hopefully by now everyone has spent the day getting their fill of Turkey and stuffing! I actually don’t like Thanksgiving foods, I know, how un-American, but I’ve still been enjoying my first holiday at home in over two years nonetheless!

As the holiday winds down, the frenzy of Black Friday is upon us, a time when most people begin their Christmas shopping. It can be hard to buy things for people who love to travel, especially for those of us who are constantly trying to downsize their belongings.

I wrote about the best travel-related gifts a while back, but even most of those items were too large for most veteran travelers to lug around.  This year it’s all about the small and cute, so here are 8 awesome stocking stuffers to buy any traveler in your life:

Adorable Cable Buddies

gulp

I’m a sucker for cute things. And I’m even more of a sucker for whale things. I hate traveling with all my cords and chargers because I’m terrible at cord management, but I’ve now found the perfect solution.

Meet Gulp!

Gulp, and his other sea creature-inspired friends, were created by Nice in order to keep all your cables neat. He sits on my iPhone or iPad charger, and when the cord isn’t in use, I simply wrap it around his whale tail where it clips into place. Goodbye days or tangled messes and broken cables. (Is it just me or do Apple cords break way too easily??)

These cable buddies come in a wide assortment of colors, I stuck with the traditional blue for my whale, and they’re also made to cover a vast array of chargers– so no worries if you’ve got Hong Kong plugs or Italian plugs.

Easy. Affordable. Adorable. I’m sold.

Practical Moleskine Notebooks

moleskine-1

I’m obsessed with Moleskine products, and I know I’m not the only traveler who feels this way. Yes, these little books can be pricey, but they’re so worth it. Since buying my first one years ago, I’ve gone through several of these books.

As a traveler, I love keeping a notebook with me to jot down thoughts, critical information or even simply the names of dishes I enjoyed. Moleskine makes a whole range of stationary products, all of which have been durable (say goodbye to the days of pages falling out of shoddy notebooks) and practical. I love that they all have pockets in the back, which make them perfect for keeping ticket stubs, receipts or other odds and ends.

We may live in a digital age, but sometimes nothing beats good old pen and paper.

Chic Travel Wallets

allett

Wallets: every traveler needs one, yet they are every traveler’s worst nightmare.

Too often I’ve fretted about what wallet I’m going to use on a particular trip. When I’m traveling to less developed countries I want something stylish, but not covered in LV logos. When I’m traveling to multiple countries in one go, I want something that I can organize different currencies in. And when I’m traveling to basically anywhere in Asia, I know that I’ll need something that has a good change purse.

After testing it out, Allett has become my ideal go-to travel walletI’ve been using their Classic Leather Women’s Original Wallet. As stated in the name it’s leather, so you know it’s going to be durable, and I love that the inside teal, giving it that fun pop of chic color.

It has two billfold pockets, which is perfect for keeping those different currencies organized– even if you’re only traveling to one country, it’s great for keeping some US in for once you land back at the airport. Plus it still has a zippered pocket for all those coins, and it’s on the outside which keep it nice and thin. It’s no wonder they claim to be the world’s thinnest wallet.

All of their wallets are made in San Diego, not China, so I know this wallet is going to last me a long time!

Sweet Perfume Sticks

aroamas

More often than not, I wish that I had packed some sort of lotion or fragrance with me on trips. Especially on those hot, humid days, I just want something to make me feel a little more refreshed and renewed. But alas, I never end up packing any.

Why you may ask? Because most of these types of products come in big, bulky bottles and are fragile. Just when I think of packing some, the risk of breaking bottles or spilling it in my luggage quickly dissuades me.

Luckily, fellow travel blogger Brooke Schoenman from Her Packing List has solved this problem for all of us travelers with her product Aroamas.

This solid perfume not only has an awesomely clever name, but they smell great and glide on easy. They come in small containers and glide on your skin just like a lip gloss.

And best of all, they’re 100% organic! Normal perfumes kill my allergies and also dry out my skin thanks to all the alcohol. But these scents aren’t over powering and the coconut oil in them keeps skin nice and moisturized! Brooke actually makes all of these by hand, so it’s easy to know exactly what’s in them (great for people who allergies, like myself) and I must say, she’s done an excellent job. They look and smell great!

Playful iPhone Lenses

photojojo

Your new favorite travel companion. Since becoming an iPhone convert, I find that sometimes I just can’t be bothered to lug my DSLR around. I’d much rather pull out my phone, snap my photos, and be on my way. Plus then they’re all ready to be uploaded to Instagram

But sometimes I just can’t get the shot I was hoping for– usually because the iPhone lens isn’t wide enough or I lose too much quality when I zoom in. Now that problem’s been solved with the help of these awesome iPhone lenses by Photojojo.

The sampler kit comes with three lenses: fisheye, macro/wide angle, and telephoto. The whole kit costs $50, which is a steal considering just a fisheye lens for any DSLR will run you upwards of $500, but the individual iPhone lenses can be purchased for around $20 each if you don’t want the kit.

I’ll probably be doing a full reviews on these guys soon because I think they’re so great and want to show the different lens capabilities!

Cute Sleeping Masks

In the past year I think I’ve flown enough to circumnavigate the globe at least five times. All that flying can be taxing, so I usually try to take preventative measures to stay healthy mid-flight. This usually involves keeping hydrated, moisturized and getting a bit of shuteye.

To block out any unwanted light you can bet that I take advantage of sleeping masks. They make the perfect flight accessory and can easily fold up to fit in any purse, pocket, or carry-on.

Living in the US, almost all of the sleeping masks I’d seen were black or solid color. How boring. After moving to Asia I was introduced to the world of fun, cute sleeping masks, and I haven’t gone back to black since! I mean, how cute is this Rilakkuma mask??

LUXE City Guides

luxe-guide

I’ve talked about LUXE before, and these slim pocket guides fit perfectly into any stocking!

Aimed at value-loving or tight-on-time travelers, these guides provide short, sassy reviews with highly selective entries. Each guide is finely curated and includes only the best of each location– so if there’s only 2 good hotels, that’s all you’ll get in these guides, because why waste your precious travel time?

I’m typically a Lonely Planet girl through-and-through because of their bright alluring photos (let’s face it, it’s usually seeing photos of a destination that draws me to it) but once I have a destination decided on, it’s all about LUXE City Guides.

With no maps, photos or fluff, you’re fed only the most important information by people who love and live in that destination. It’s this straight and to the point type of content that keep these stylish fold-out guides small enough to fit in your pocket. And I love them for it!

Fun Luggage Tags

luggage-tag

Another great, yet simple travel accessory, luggage tags are a must! Don’t think of them as a tat gift, because they’re actually pretty practical and they don’t take up any room.

As much as I try to travel carry-on only, sometimes when traveling overseas for long durations, it just can’t be helped to check a bag or two.

Give your bags some personality by using fun luggage tags or destination-themed ones. Not only do they provide airport officers with your personal information incase your bag gets lost, but they also make it easier for spotting your luggage at the baggage claim turnstile.
