The Magnificent Mile of Michigan Avenue, Chicago

Every Friday I’ll be sharing a photo from someplace in my travels.

This week’s photo comes from downtown Chicago, Illinois on the Magnificent Mile.

While not a lot of people ever make it to Chicago in their travels, those who do can’t seem to get enough of it. And who can blame them, Chicago is quite the city. Filled with unique architecture and towering skyscrapers, the ‘Windy City’ is easy to love and even easier to photograph.

There are so many different neighborhoods to explore, yet I still always find myself needing to pay a visit to Michigan Avenue whenever I’m in town. Locally known as the “Magnificent Mile”, Michigan Avenue is known for its upscale shopping and trendy restaurants.

Even if you have no interest in shopping, you need to visit this area. Walking along this road, you’ll pass by many of Chicago’s most famous buildings and tourist attractions. Just make sure to pause every now and again to take in your surroundings as the architecture in Chicago really reflects the history of architecture across the US. One of my favorite spots to do this is right at Wacker Drive along the Chicago River.
