Foto Friday: Long Tail Boats in Thailand

Every Friday I’ll be sharing a photo from someplace in my travels.

This week’s photo is from my day in paradise in Koh Hae, Thailand.

There are plenty of beautiful koh, meaning island in Thai, throughout all of Thailand, and particularly in southern Thailand. Although Phuket itself is an island, we wanted to explore some of the smaller, remote islands to see the pristine beaches that Thailand has to offer.

We decided to spend the day exploring Long Beach on Koh Hae, also known as Coral Island. located only a short boat ride from the southern tip of Phuket, it was perfect as a day trip. The beaches and water there look straight out of a postcard and were the picture-perfect scenes we were hoping for.

The waters were calm, relaxing, and filled with sea life– perfect for snorkeling. Only a few meters from shore we were able to spot coral, parrotfish, dory fish, butterfly fish, banner fish and more that I can’t even name.

I always enjoy seeing the traditional Thai long tail boats along the shore, which is why I love this photo.

Koh Hae truly was a day in paradise.
